White County Democrats,
Just wanted everyone to know that we will be gathering at our usual headquarters tonight — Knights of Columbus Hall, 122 N. Illinois Street in Monticello.
The doors will open at 5, candidates and their teams will probably arrive shortly after 6 p.m.
I’m bringing a pot of chilli and some soda. All are welcome to bring any food they would like to share.
With only the four Monticello precincts voting, and all in the courthouse, I would expect returns to be available early. Hope you can join us in learning the results and congratulating the winners!

Linked are the election results for White County’s contested races. Things could change for the Sutton/Lehe race yet. There is also no data available for the total number of W.C. ballots actually cast, so that will change the stats at the bottom of the page.
Click here to download the PDF file with the election results.
The Myron Sutton / Don Lehe race is extremely close.    (Sutton is currently down by either 24 or 26 votes, depending on the source.).
None of the race results are officially certified until after the provisional ballots have been counted – those who voted provisional ballots have 10 days to bring proof of identity, etc. to the courthouse.
If you know or hear of anyone who cast a provisional ballot that included a vote for Myron Sutton, please relay that information to me as soon as possible – we want to personally contact those people and be certain that they remember to follow up at the courthouse. Otherwise their vote will not count in the final tally.
Going from west to east across the county, Sutton was on the ballot in Round Grove, West Point, Prairie I, Big Creek, Honeycreek, and Union 1,3,4,5,6,&7
Also, if you are aware of any voter irregularities in any of the precincts, please let me know immediately. I’ve already heard a story of one White County republican inspector re-marking two straight R ballots so they would feed through the electronic scanner. (This was not in a Sutton precinct, but it sure seems illegal to me!). We’ll be checking every aspect, and if you have suggestions of where things may have gone amiss, please tell us. Time is critical, of course.
Thanks for any help you can give us!
